The Japanese Garden

This design provides photographic insight into how plant materials and moving water were harmoniously and sensitively combined to create a Japanese style garden on a large sloping site.

The plant materials were carefully selected and positioned to accentuate and beautify the surrounds and the combination of elements to include paths, water and vegetation act as a symbolic representation of Japanese philosophical ideas such as strength and perseverance.

The abundance of perennial and scented planting provides ongoing interest throughout the seasons, attracting bees and other insects. Plant life has also been carefully combined to reflect a diversity of height and shape creating visual stimulation and a sense of progression through space.

The circular areas of lawn have been strategically positioned so that views from the key rooms in the house look out onto different areas of the garden.
